Damaged UK biodiesel plant nearing rehabilitation

UK-based fuel supplier Greenergy is confident of re-opening its biodiesel plant in Immingham ‘within months’ after it suffered damage due to flooding late last year.

The company released a company statement in January which read:

‘We continue to make progress towards resuming manufacturing at our biodiesel. All equipment damage has been assessed and replacement equipment has been ordered, with delivery of major parts commencing in February.

‘In the meantime the site has been stabilised and a programme of repairs is already well underway. Re-commissioning of the plant will commence in a phased way soon after the critical equipment is installed.’

The company claims it managed to ‘maintain normal supply’ to its customers throughout the disruption.
