Czech Republic Environment Minister to open Biofuels International expo & conference

Biofuels International expo & conference is now in its third year and is organised by leading global publication Biofuels International magazine.
To reflect the industry's move towards advanced biofuels and renewable power generation this year's event will include streams on biogas and biomass, as well as biodiesel and bioethanol.
The event will bring together medium to large biodiesel, bioethanol and biogas producers, policy makers, investors, plant designers and feedstock suppliers to promote business opportunities and discuss the uncertain future of the sector.
As the market gradually recovers from the global economic crisis it is more important than ever that the market learns how to overcome market challenges including availability of inexpensive feedstocks, sustainability, petroleum price volatility production overcapacity.
The two day conference will cover areas such as ever changing regulations, best practices, future growth and outlook trends, emerging feedstocks, second generation technology and production methods, biomass pre-treatment options, storage and handling concerns and quality control.

As an added benefit delegates will get the chance to visit a nearby biodiesel plant on 4th May. Preol is a leading producer in the Czech Republic, which has just completed constructing a state-of-the-art biodiesel plant in the industrial region of Lovosice.
The plant, designed by Desmet Ballestra, has the capacity to produce 100,000 tonnes of FAME biodiesel and 10,000 tonnes a year of glycerine. It also has an integrated oil mill capable of processing 400,000 tonnes of rape seed of year and produce 160,000 tonnes of rapeseed oil, as well as 230,000 tonnes of rape meal.
