Comment period on proposed 2017 RFS closes next Monday
Biofuels industry players who wish to say their word on the production volumes in the US next year have only this weekend left to do so.
The comment period on US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed renewable volume obligations (RVO) for 2017 under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is set to close on 11 July.
EPA’s proposal would see the RVO for cellulosic biofuel increased to 312 million gallons, biomass-based diesel to 2 billion, and advanced biofuel to 4 billion gallons.
Total amount of renewable fuel in the US fuel supply would rise 18.8 billion gallons.
According to information filed on Regulations.gov, more than 6,000 public comments have already been filed on the proposal.
The EPA is expected to publish a final version of the rule by November 2016.
Comments on the proposal can be filed under Docket ID: EPA-HQ-OAR-2016-0004 on the Regulations.gov website.
