CIRCOR announces biofuel upgrade kit for maritime industry
CIRCOR International has unveiled its new Biofuel Upgrade Kits for IMO Marine Pumps that enables commercial marine operators to efficiently and confidently prepare their existing pump systems for biofuel adoption.

In response to mounting regulatory pressures and the global drive for emissions reduction, these kits deliver a straightforward, secure, and sustainable retrofit solution specifically engineered to support fuels such as FAME and HVO in line with ISO 8217:2024 requirements.

The kit includes all essential components in a compact kit, allowing maritime fleets to achieve full compliance with the latest fuel standards quickly and cost-effectively, without resorting to pump replacements or disruptive system modifications.

The kit features optimised seals, delivering reliable performance even with challenging biofuel blends like FAME.

All components are constructed from high-grade, chemical-resistant materials that maximise product lifespan and substantially reduce long-term maintenance demands. Marine operators benefit from a retrofit process requiring no adjustments to temperature or pressure ranges, ensuring that pump performance and efficiency are entirely preserved after upgrade. Seamless integration with all existing IMO Marine Pumps means full form, fit, and function is maintained while unlocking new fuel compatibility.

Identifying pumps based on equipment makes it easier to keep track of modifications and order future spare parts correctly.

Designed to be 100% biofuel-ready and fully compatible with fuels compliant with EN and ASTM standards, the kit enables operators to transition confidently to renewable fuels, reduce their carbon footprint, and meet environmental as well as IMO directives.

This comprehensive upgrade not only ensures regulatory compliance but directly supports broader environmental protection and sustainability goals within the commercial marine segment.
