Chevron REG implements short-time work at German biodiesel plant
Chevron Renewable Energy Group has made the decision to implement short-time work for its Oeding, Germany, biodiesel production facility workforce.
This decision was made in response to a challenging margin environment, primarily caused by alleged fraud and dumping of Chinese biodiesel flooding the market.
The team intends to start short-time work on August 1, and the Oeding Works Council has given its approval.
Short-time work is intended to preserve jobs by providing employees with partial compensation for the loss of earnings due to temporary, unavoidable absences from work.
Chevron believes that the future of energy is lower carbon, and we remain committed to renewable fuels production to enable our customers in the hard-to-electrify sectors like long-haul trucking, rail and marine to meet their climate goals.
