Butamax expands its EAG
Global biobutanol technology development company Butamax Advanced Biofuels, has announced that a further two ethanol producers have joined their Early Adopters Group (EAG).
The EAG is an association of leading ethanol production companies that are interested in adopting Butamax biobutanol technology for transportation fuel. It was announced in December 2011 with Minnesota-based Highwater Ethanol as founding member.
The two Iowa-based producers, Lincolnway Energy and Corn LP, have both now also signed letters of intent expressing their desire to join the consortium.
Butamax was the pioneer in identifying the opportunities for the production of isobutanol through advanced biotechnology. Fagen, a biofuels engineering, procurement and construction contractor is to work with Butamax in the retrofitting of facilities.
