Brazil’s ANP temporarily reduces biodiesel blend to 10%

Brazil’s National Petroleum Agency (ANP) has temporarily reduced the volume of biodiesel blended with diesel sold at the pump to 10% from 12% for September and October.

The ANP Collegiate Board, together with the Ministry of Mines and Energy, approved the reduction, stating: “The measure is necessary to continue the national supply, since the supply of biodiesel for the period mentioned could not be enough to meet the 12% mixture of diesel B, which has been widely consumed, despite the current pandemic situation.”

In addition to the reduced biodiesel blend, the ANP also restarted stage three of the 75th Biodiesel Auction, which had been suspended on 7 August.
