Biodiesel landmark and new partnership for Sequential

Sequential Pacific Biodiesel, a commercial producer in the Pacific Northwest, has produced its 20 millionth gallon of clean burning, locally produced fuel in eight years.

While hitting that milestone, and expecting to go on to produce over 6 million gallons of biodiesel in 2013 alone, Sequential has also agreed to recycle cooking oil from the concessions stands operated by the University of Oregon athletics department, which will be used to make fuel via a closed-loop production cycle.

The University of Oregon joins a network of Sequential feedstock providers that now totals over 7,000, which includes local restaurants, businesses, hospitals and schools. Sequential claims biodiesel made from used cooking oil is cleaner than petroleum diesel, emitting up to 78% less carbon dioxide and other harmful gasses.

‘Twenty million gallons is a testament to the partnerships we work to foster,’ said Tyson Keever, Sequential general manager. ‘We are particularly excited about this agreement with the University of Oregon as many of our founding members, including myself, are Oregon alumni and the idea behind our company was actually sparked while we were still in school.’
