Biodiesel factories to be constructed in Indonesia

Korean companies, Hyundai and LG are to construct biodiesel factories in response to the government’s effort to expand the domestic use of the fuel through its mandatory 20% blended biodiesel (B20) policy.

Antara News Agency reported that, West Kalimantan Governor, Sutarmidji, said that they “welcome the plan. The opening of the downstream business is in line with the increasing demand for biodiesel.”

He continued to state that Korean investors would be using environmentally friendly technology as to manufacture the waste of oil palm bunches and turn it into biodiesel. The governor said “our oil palm waste will be manufactured into biodiesel, which will meet the increasing demand for the fuel.”

The construction of the factories will also help to create jobs in the province.
