BERL develops biodiesel plant in Malawi

In Malawi, Bio Energy Resources is planning to build an $18 million (€12.8 million) jatropha-to-biofuel production plant.

The company hopes for the plant to begin producing commercial quantities of biodiesel in 2016, following a trial output which is due to commence in Q4 2011.

The new plant will provide jobs for approximately 30,000 local farmers, who will cultivate jatropha for use at the facility.
