Be8 arrives in Italy and strengthens strategy in European biofuels market
The new operation is aligned with the company’s strategic planning and aims to strengthen exports of biofuels and raw materials to Europe, such as soybean oil, fats, used cooking oil and residual inputs.
“This is another important step toward fulfilling our strategic plan and expanding the company’s geographical presence through the supply of renewable energy,” said Erasmo Carlos Battistella, president of Be8.
In addition to exporting products to the continent, the company is considering investing in a logistics structure in Italy, which will serve as a connection and distribution hub in the region.
To achieve this, the unit will seek to obtain INS (Italian National Scheme) certification, as well as internationally recognized certifications by the European Union, such as ISCC EU (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification).
The process requires compliance with rigorous sustainability and traceability criteria, assessing the entire production chain—from the origin of raw materials, such as soybean oil, animal fat, and used cooking oil, to the final product.
The company will also operate in compliance with the REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), a mandatory requirement for the commercialization of chemical products or consumer goods containing chemical substances in Italy and throughout the European Union.
“We do not rule out investing in local production, but that will depend on the demand to be developed in the coming years,” added Battistella. The group already maintains a commercial office in Geneva and a biodiesel industrial unit in Domdidier, Switzerland.
Be8 is a leader in biodiesel production in Brazil, with global operations in renewable energy, and develops new energy matrices through a circular innovation ecosystem focused on sustainable solutions for people, businesses, and the planet.
