Avfuel to supply sustainable aviation fuel to Wyoming FBO

Avfuel, a global supplier of aviation fuel, will supply operators fuelling at Jackson Hole Aviation in Wyoming, US during its demonstration days with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to prove its viability. From 3-4 September, Avfuel will supply 7,500 gallons of SAF.

It is hoped that by providing the fuel to Jackson Hole Aviation, a fixed base operator set within Grand Teton National Park, Avfuel will make those in the industry aware of the availability and capability of SAF. Keith Sawyer, manager of alternative fuels for Avfuel, said: “We’re committed to raising awareness on the viability of sustainable aviation fuel.

“Events like these show that the product exists, it is safe, it is simply jet fuel and it provides a great benefit to our environment. By raising awareness, we’re hoping to garner commitments from more operators to use SAF and present those commitments to producers, in essence saying: ‘Here are our customers. The demand is there. We simply need the supply.’”

Supply of SAF is one of the biggest challenges of bringing the product to market on a commercial scale. Avfuel is hoping to encourage further production for greater representation of SAF in the fuel supply chain.
