Airbus to provide China with 100 fuel-efficient planes

Aircraft manufacturer Airbus has signed a preliminary deal to supply the China Aircraft Leasing Company with 100 fuel-efficient planes.

In a contract worth around €8.1 billion, Airbus will provide the Chinese leasing company with 74 A320neos (new engine option), 16 A320ceos (current engine option) and 10 A321ceos.

The A320 type is a set of medium-range aircraft which occupies 60% of the global medium-haul market. Its A320neo is built to consume 15% less fuel.
