Advanced SAF technology in Teesside

As the world races towards netzero, Alfanar is stepping up to play a vital role, building what is set to become Europe’s largest and most advanced sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project in Teesside, UK.
This ambitious project is setting a new standard for the aviation industry’s path to decarbonisation. “Aviation remains a notable source of global carbon emissions, and as air travel continues to grow, the industry faces increasing pressure to minimise its environmental impact.
“Yet, with the current limited availability of SAF, meeting these demands has been a challenge worldwide.
“The UK government has taken this challenge seriously, aiming to achieve 10% SAF in its aviation fuel mix by 2030 and 75% by 2050. Our Lighthouse Green Fuels (LGF) project will be key to helping the UK realise these goals, transforming Teesside into a global leader in SAF production,” said Noaman Al Adhami, UK country head, Alfanar Projects.
