David Carpintero has been Director General of ePURE since June 2022. Previously he worked as Director General for a Brussels-based food trade association and has a long international experience with a multinational in the agricultural sector with postings in Europe and America. He started his career as a management consultant with A.T. Kearney. David earned an MBA at IESE Business School and a Master’s in Agronomic Engineering at Polytechnic University of Madrid.
Olivier (Olly) Macé is Owner and Principal at Broadmanor Consulting Limited, a company specializing in advising clients across the biofuels / renewable fuels value chain. He is also a Senior Associate of advisory firms Channoil Energy and US-based Stillwater Associates. Olly previously worked in the Downstream Oil and Biofuels sectors for 31 years, holding a variety of roles in Refining, Trading, Supply & Logistics, Fuels and Lubricants Sales as well as Renewable Energy. From 2006 to 2013, Olly held various leadership positions in the global BP Biofuels organisation, aimed at developing a large-scale biofuels business based on advanced technologies and production assets. These included General Manager Europe & Africa and Global Head of Strategy, Regulatory Affairs & Communication. After leading BP’s Midstream business in the UK from 2014 to 2018, Olly became the European Biofuels Director for BP Fuels Supply & Midstream, responsible for the biofuels commercial performance in the entire region, a position he held until he retired from BP at the end of 2020.

Other topics on which he presented at international conferences include aviation biofuel production costs, the impact of road electrification on biofuel demand and follow-up legislation to the European Green Deal. Before joining Stratas Advisors, Cornelius worked in Saudi Arabia, where he conducted research on the economic effects of legislative reforms in the energy sector. Praveen Bains is currently a Clean Energy Modeller within the Energy Technology and Policy division at the International Energy Agency (IEA). She works within the alternative fuels team, modelling the global alternative fuel production that supplies the energy required by the demand sectors. Her works focuses on bioenergy/biofuels and sustainable aviation fuels, including synthetic kerosene. Prior to the IEA, Ms. Bains worked for imperial College London and the U.S. Department of Energy. Rachel is KPMG’s lead expert on low carbon fuels, advising a range of clients on strategies and investments across the range of fuel use cases, at UK and global level. Until February 2022 she was Deputy Director for Low Carbon Fuels at the UK Department for Transport, where she led a major increase in the supply of sustainable fuels into the UK market, as well as laying the foundations for growth in UK production. Rachel’s previous career has spanned a range of energy and environment policy areas including solar feed-in tariffs and the Climate Change Act.

Jason Libersky is the Chief Product Officer of Gevo, Inc. For the past decade Jason has been at the forefront of energy transition: real decarbonization of the energy supply chains, methane emissions reductions, commodity differentiation and tokenization based on environmental (and social) performance , new ES&G products & risk metrics, indices, and other original solutions to fill market gaps. This work has directly contributed to keeping well over 3 billion cubic feet of methane out of the atmosphere. Jason also played a key role in establishing the early ESG differentiated commodity market for digitized assets and attracting and closing significant venture funding from large strategic partners.
Lead Technology Engineer - Renewables Product Line
Guillaume Cheviron is Lead Technology Engineer within the Renewables Product Line of Axens. Guillaume started his career at Axens in 2008 as Process Design Engineer. In 2010, he joined the team in charge of the development of the BioTfueL® technology, which aims at demonstrating the 2nd generation biofuels route through Gasification and Fischer-Tropsch. He participated to the early phases of the project, contributed to the selection of the involved technologies and to the definition of the demo units. After a short break during the construction of the demo units, he came back on the BioTfueL® project in 2016 as R&D Project Manager for Axens. He supervised the start-up, the R&D tests, the scale-up and finally the homologation of the technology. He holds a Master Degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Chimie ParisTech, and an Advanced Master Degree in Refining, Engineering and Gas from the IFP-School.

Mishal Al Mutlaq is the Chief Investment Officer at Alfanar’s project development and EPC division. As the CIO, Mishal is instrumental in the coordination with banks and co-investors, where he oversees team promoting projects and secures the funding for these projects. Till date, he concluded deals worth over $1.6Billion as nonrecourse financing. The division projects include renewable electricity generation such as Solar and Wind, advanced sustainable aviation fuel, wastewater recycling, smart cities including smart meters as well as power with carbon capture & storage. The geographic span of these projects includes Saudi Arabi, Egypt, India, Spain and the United Kingdom. He also serves as a Director of Alfanar Energy, UK and Alfanar Energia Espana, Spain while also leading the IPP team – renewable division of Alfanar and is part of the investment board which allocates corporate level capital. Mishal started his career with Alfanar in 2013 as an Investment Manager handling the corporate investments worldwide. Earlier, he was Head of Periam Investor Group, where he was involved in the strategic review and the eventual sale of Enernoc, the largest demand and frequency response provider in the United States of America at the time. Mishal is also the promoter for Alfaco Partners Limited, which is an FCA regulated (as an Appointed Representative) entity based in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Alfanar Mishal was part of the investment team at Morgan Stanley Investment Management in Saudi Arabia, which ran flagship funds investing in domestic public equities market. Prior to joining LanzaJet, Stéphane was heading Sustainable Aviation Fuels activities of the French multinational integrated energy company TotalEnergies. Before, he was the Managing Director Asia Pacific for Ingevity, a leading global manufacturer of renewable specialty chemicals and materials. Previously, he led Cool Planet – a US startup company dedicated to establishing sustainable products for the energy, food, and water markets – equity raise and international expansion. Before that, Stéphane held various positions in the fields of sales and marketing, business and corporate development as well as strategy. Stéphane earned a Master of International Management from ESLSCA, a Grande Ecole in Paris, France and an Executive MBA from Temple University Fox School of Business in Philadelphia, PA.

Jonathan leads Neste’s Renewable Aviation business for the Europe/Middle East & Africa region. Jonathan is responsible for all activities relating to the sale and supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and related sustainability offers, investments and business development. The role also covers engagement with government authorities and policy makers on regulatory matters, to help accelerate the use of SAF and support the aviation industry on its path to reduce emissions. Jonathan has extensive experience in renewables and the energy industry, in senior leadership positions in Downstream businesses, responsible for commercial, business development, M&A, strategy, marketing and operational activities. The last 10 years Jonathan has focused on the aviation fuel business. Jonathan graduated in Economics from London University, and completed an Executive MBA programme at Harvard Business School.
