Washed up whale could be fresh biofuel source
A fin whale that passed away on a beach in Suffolk, UK could be used to create biofuel according to the local district council.
The whale, which weighed around eight tonnes and was 10 metres long, is believed to have washed up onto the beach on 30 September.
Councillor Andrew Nunn is quoted as saying the whale would be taken to be rendered and the output possibly used for biofuel, rather than it being taken to landfill or back out to sea.
