Vibra delivers SAF at Rio airport

The imported biofuel is now available at its facility at Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro, making Vibra the first company to supply SAF in the country.
Vibra’s terminal at Galeão recently received International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC), ensuring sustainability tracking across the entire supply chain—from raw materials to bio-refinery production and final distribution through BR Aviation, Vibra’s aircraft fueling division.
In January, a shipment of 23 iso-tank containers carrying about 550,000 litres of SAF departed from the Port of Antwerp in Belgium for Rio de Janeiro.
The SAF supplied by Vibra is produced from used cooking oil (UCO), one of the most sustainable feedstocks due to its low carbon intensity.
“We are ready to expand SAF availability in Brazil, leveraging our infrastructure in over 90 airports and our expertise in delivering safe and competitive solutions,” said Marcelo Bragança, Vibra’s chief operating officer.
