US biodiesel production shows monthly fall
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) biodiesel production was 2 million gallons (9.09 million litres) lower than production in January. Biodiesel production from the Midwest region accounted for 75% of the US total.
Production came from 91 biodiesel plants with capacity for 2.5 billion gallons (11.3 billion litres) every year, according to the latest statistics.
Producer sales of biodiesel during February included 54 million gallons (245 million litres) sold as B100 and an additional 77 million gallons (350 million litres) 575of B100 sold in biodiesel blends.
There were also just over 1 million pounds of feedstocks used to produce biodiesel in that month, according to the EIA.
Soybean oil was also the largest biodiesel feedstock during February with 575 million pounds (260 million kg) used up.
