US biodiesel exports rise in last 12 months

The US exported a total of 472,889.3 metric tonnes of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 or greater last year.
This figure was up from 384,894 metric tonnes in 2019, according to the latest figures released by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Exports of biodiesel and blends of B30 or greater totalled 9,088.1 metric tonnes in December. This was a reduction from both 10,262.3 metric tonnes in the previous month and 11,676.3 metric tonnes in December 2019.
Canada was the top destination for US biodiesel exports in December at 5,545.1 metric tonnes, followed by Peru at 3,289.3 metric tonnes and Germany at 160.9 metric tonnes.
The value of US biodiesel exports reached $6.34 million (€5.2 million) in December, down from $7.15 million (€5.9 million) in November, and down from $9.7 million (€8 million) in December 2019.
Exports for the last 12 months reached 471,889.3 metric tonnes at a value of $378.78 million (€312 million), compared to 384,894 metric tonnes at a value of $380.25 million (€313 million), in 2019.
Canada was the top destination for US biodiesel exports last year at 420,713.2 metric tonnes, followed by Peru at 19,112 metric tonnes and the Netherlands at 13,885.5 metric tonnes. Canada was also the top destination for US biodiesel exports in 2019 at 343,984.2 metric tonnes, followed by the Netherlands at 21,469.8 metric tonnes and Peru at 13,479.8 metric tonnes.
