Shell enters sale agreement with Next Renewable Fuels

Next Renewable Fuels has announced that it has entered a long-term purchase and sale agreement for the purchase of renewable diesel from its planned Port Westward, Oregon facility.

The company states that it has an investment of over $1 billion (€878 million) to continue the development of its Oregon renewable diesel facility. The facility is expected to have an annual processing capacity of 13.3 million barrels, the equivalent of 600 million gallons of renewable diesel.

The facility is scheduled to be opened in 2021 and will supply Shell, as well as other partners, with its renewable transportation fuels.

Shell Biodiesel Trading manager for the Americas, Kate Andresen said, “As a drop-in fuel, Next’s renewable diesel is a perfect fit with our existing fuels business and will allow us to integrate this advanced fuel seamlessly into our supply chain.”
