Reaching net-zero goals

Reaching the UK’s net-zero ambitions is no easy feat. Despite the vital importance of meeting our climate goals as quickly as possible, we must ensure all industries – and indeed all nations across the world – play their part in supporting the global transition to a greener planet.
The pressures facing many sectors across the transport industry – an industry which makes up approximately a quarter of total emissions across the UK – may seem daunting.
However, solutions are readily available now to help the sectors facing the largest barriers to net zero to overcome these and further their journey to meeting global climate ambitions.

Progress made

Progress is already being made in a number of areas. The roll-out of electric vehicles for everyday car journeys continues at pace, with more than one million electric vehicles expected to be on UK roads by the end of this year. With this increasing demand, comes an increasing focus on the need to develop the necessary charging infrastructure and electricity grid capacity required to support this new technology.
