DP Lubrificanti has signed an agreement with technology firm Processi Innovativi for the design of plants based on DP Lubrificanti’s technology for the production of biodiesel.
According to Processi Innovativi, a subsidiary dedicated to technology development and industrial applications in the field of ‘green’ chemistry and part of KT-Kinetics Technology, this technology can process used cooking oil, animal fats and by-products from vegetable oil processing to produce biodiesel.
DP Lubrificanti has a factory based 40km south of Rome, which produces biodiesel that sells in Italy and exports to Germany, France, Greece, Croatia and other European countries.
The Aprilia plant, with a capacity of 160,000 tonnes per year, cannot be called a traditional biodiesel plant. For the production of biodiesel are not in fact used vegetable oils that are used primarily for human consumption.
Gaetano Iaquaniello, managing director of Processi Innovativi, said: “We are excited to continue the partnership with DP Lubrificanti also in the field of second-generation biodiesel. This is a further step into the green technology sector for Maire Tecnimont Group.”
Fabrizio Corcos, managing director of DP Lubrificanti, added: “This agreement confirms an alliance with a solid industrial and process partner.”
