Obama to double renewable energy production
President-elect Barack Obama has elaborated his American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan with a target to further expand the US’ renewable energy sector.
‘To put people back to work today and reduce our dependence on foreign oil tomorrow, we will double renewable energy production and renovate public buildings to make them more energy efficient,’ Obama said on Saturday 3 January.
Next week, the President-elect will meet with leaders from both parties to discuss the plan.
Obama has already indicated that his administration will focus on creating jobs through a green stimulus plan.
