Nile to make biofuels in Egypt
The formed company New Nile will produce tens of millions of litres of second generation biofuels on a 50,000 hectare project site whilst utilising Egypt’s untreated seawater and its vast expanse of arid desert, as well as the country’s abundant agriculture-skilled labour.
The exact site location has not yet been decided but New Nile’s developers and its architectural firm Gensler are currently in talks with the Egyptian government with regards to possible settings, including the Mediterranean and Read Sea coastlines. Construction is expected to start early next year.
