Neste to start selling 100% renewable diesel at select Finnish petrol stations
Oil refiner and renewable solutions developer Neste is planning to start selling diesel produced entirely from renewable raw materials at selected stations in Finland around the turn of the year.
Majority of the feedstock Neste uses to refine the renewable diesel consists of waste and residues.
The product launch is one of Neste's ways to participate in the centenary of Finland's independence in 2017, known as 'Finland 100 years'.
"We will be the first in Finland to launch diesel produced entirely from renewable raw materials, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel," says Mika Hyötyläinen, VP of marketing at Neste Oil Retail.
Neste's proprietary NExBTL technology makes it possible to produce renewable diesel and other renewable products out of waste and residue materials and vegetable oils.
Neste’s 100% renewable diesel is already in distribution in California with the cities of San Francisco, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Carlsbad, and county of Sacramento.
