Incoming: acquisition of North American Bio-Energies
Foothills has now partnered with Appalachian State University in order to take part in a study designed to determine which feedstock oils are the most suitable to be produced and processed in the local economy.
A section of the company’s facility, which was previously an adhesives unit, is now being used as a demonstration area for sample technology. This technology is due to be commercialised in a plant located in Wilmington, North Carolina, with a 66 million gallon a year capacity.
‘The time was right for us to make this move. With congress’ passing of the American
Clean Energy and Security Act in 2009, it is clear that 2010 will mark a spike in the
demand for biodiesel as industry giants push to meet new emission standards,’ said Incoming CEO Ephren Taylor.
