DoE announces new round of funding

In Washington, US, the DoE is to award $30 million (€22.4 million) in a new round of funding for advanced biofuels.

The $30 million will be awarded to small-scale projects focusing on process integration that support the development of drop-in biofuels.

The key focus will be on those projects looking to produce biofuels and bioproducts from biomass. The new funding opportunity will support up to five projects.

The funding opportunity announcement’s (FOA) primary interest is agricultural residues. However, it is open to other feedstocks proposed in the application, providing it will be sustainable available by the year 2015.
