Chinese energy company secures equipment

Non-state owned energy firm China Integrated Energy’s (CIE) biodiesel plant, which is currently being built in Tongchuan City, Shaanxi province, China, has just obtained the production equipment needed for its new refinery.

Under construction near to the company’s existing 100,000-tonne/year biodiesel production facility, the new plant will utilise crop straw including wheat straw, corn straw and cotton straw and agricultural waste to produce 50,000 tonnes of second generation biodiesel annually. China generates around 1.3 billion tonnes of organic waste each year and this will also be used in the plant, boosting CBEH’s production capacity to 150,000 tonnes of biofuel a year.

The installation of the equipment, which is estimated to reduce production costs by 20%, will be completed by Q3 of this year before it becomes operational in the fourth quarter. The biofuel produced will have the ability to be blended with diesel and first generation biodiesel at any ratio.
Until the Q2 2011 the production facility will be operating at 60-70% capacity before the company increases it to 80-90% of the plant’s total capacity.

Gao Xincheng, CEO of CIE said: ‘The procurement of this advanced biodiesel production and processing equipment for our new 50,000 facility is a major milestone in our company's strategy to become a leading producer of alternative fuels sources.’
