Two important days for the agriculture community are just around the corner—National Ag Day and National Biodiesel Day.
National Biodiesel Day will be celebrated on March 18 - the birthday of Rudolph Diesel. Rudolph Diesel invented the diesel engine and unveiled it at the World Fair in 1900.
National Ag Day, also on March 18, celebrates the vital role agriculture plays in our society, economy, and food security.
And National Biodiesel Day focuses on the significance of biodiesel as a clean, renewable, and domestically produced fuel.
Decades ago, the soy checkoff established the biodiesel industry. And it’s now expanded to renewable diesel, bioheat and sustainable aviation fuel. In fact, in the past 15 years, biofuels have grown from utilizing 80 million bushels to 1.2 billion bushels of soybeans.
