Calgren plant up and running
An Ultra Low NOX gas turbine generator powers the Calgren plant, located in Pixley, with the ability to generate 5,800KW of electricity.
With its built-in process conversion technology, the facility will also produce 55 million gallons of ethanol annually, 400,000 tonnes of animal feed, and steam. The processed steam will reduce steam consumption by 20-25% compared with the industry norm.
The president of Calgren Renewable Fuels Lyle Schlyer said: ‘We believe that our collaboration with Lurgi on this facility has resulted in one of the most energy efficient ethanol plants in the country.’
