British Columbia to undertake biorefinery market analysis
The British Columbia Bioenergy Network (BCBN) and the government of British Columbia (BC) are seeking a contractor to undertake an analysis of the biorefinery market.
Under the CleanBC Plan, the provincial government has committed to increasing production of renewable fuels to 650 million litres annually, as well as increasing the Low Carbon Fuel Standard to 20% by 2030.
According to BCBN, significantly more renewable feedstock will be needed to meet the CleanBC renewable fuel targets.
A contractor is therefore being sought to carry out a biorefinery market analysis to outline the specific conditions required in the Canadian province to attract major fuel producers to invest in building biorefineries.
The report is to cover the major economic, technical, social and environmental factors necessary to accomplish these aims, and must analyse all relevant products for the North American and global market.
Analysis should also include discussions on how the availability of feedstocks required in the production of biofuels may affect the economics of establishing facilities.
Final submissions must be made by 24 May 2019.
