Biofuels mandates make headway in New Jersey

The US state of New Jersey is well on its way to biofuels mandates after it recently increased biodiesel blending capabilities from 5% to 30%.

Norman Woolley Jr, of New Jersey’s Woolley Fuels, stated that biofuels mandates in the state are ‘around the corner’.

Woolley said: ‘We’re trying to stay ahead of the curve and were the first to put in a biodiesel pump in New Jersey. It’s very hard to get a blended product here, so we installed the blending facilities and buy B100 from producers’.

New Jersey drivers can select what blend of biodiesel they want to use at the pump, which is programmed by a remote control.

Woolley Fuels also has plans to add 12,000 gallons of storage capacity in late 2010 to prepare for increased demand for bioheat.
