Aemetis biodiesel achieves approval and certification

Aemetis has received EPA approval to issue D4 RINs on the importation into the US of biodiesel produced from waste fats and oils (WFO).

The EPA also approved the issuance of D6 RINs when biodiesel is produced using other feedstocks.

Aemetis built and operates a 50 MMgy biodiesel production facility on the East Coast of India, which has recently achieved International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Category 2, following the production of low carbon intensity biodiesel.

The Indian plant is producing a colourless biodiesel with 99.5% esters and minimal monoglycerides, water or other contaminants.

The biotechnology company's plant has a flexible feedstock processing capability, enabling the plant to separate oils for food and biodiesel applications. This allows the plant to use multiple feedstocks at lower costs.
