AdvanceBio provides technology for ethanol research project

Biofuels consultancy AdvanceBio Systems has announced its SuPR2G reactor has been chosen for a pre-treatment research project by the Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory.

The project will focus on the production of biofuels, fermentable sugars and chemicals from lignocelluloses rich biomass feedstocks, with both parties focusing mainly on both pre-treatment research and other interrelated technologies.

‘This partnership will help to develop technology with the ultimate aim of increasing bioethanol yield from sugarcane to in excess of 30 to 40%,’ AdvanceBio Systems’ ethanol technologist Dale Monceaux was quoted as saying.

According to AdvanceBio, the SuPR2G system has been designed to hydrolyze a range of agricultural feedstocks including sugarcane, bagasse, corn stover and switchgrass.
