Neste continues making inroads into California

California based Fuel Delivery Services (FDS) has switched to Neste MY Renewable Diesel, the Finnish renewable fuels producer is reporting.

FDS is a Stockton, CA based bulk transporter of refined petroleum products. The company provides transportation services to a variety of clients including major oil companies.

Starting March 2017, FDS performed a test of Neste’s renewable diesel in 20 of its trucks, using more than 100,000 gallons of the fuel. Following the test, the company decided to switch its entire fleet to Neste’s MY Renewable Diesel.

“It was an easy decision for us to switch to this cleaner burning fuel because we didn’t have to make any additional investments or modifications to our equipment”, said FDS President David B. Atwater.

“Beyond the performance benefits, we’ve reduced our carbon footprint and significantly reduced the emissions from our vehicles which benefits both our drivers and the communities we work in.”

The news marks further inroads from Neste into the Californian market. In May, the city of San Leandro switched to the Finnish company’s renewable diesel for all of its municipal vehicles, as did the fire department of the city of Pasadena.

“We are very pleased with this decision from Fuel Delivery Services”, says Jeremy Baines, Vice President of Sales, Neste US.

“The results achieved in their trial are a verification that Neste MY Renewable Diesel offers even better engine performance than petroleum diesel yet requires less system maintenance and produces less environmental impact. We are confident that they will keep seeing positive results for their drivers and their community.”
