Dr Sanjeev Gajjela

Dr Sanjeev Gajjela is Founder and CEO of PySAF Ltd (London, UK), a cleantech startup developing a proprietary fast pyrolysis and bio-crude upgrading platform to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), bio-intermediates, and speciality chemicals from lignocellulosic biomass. He brings over 20 years of R&D and commercialisation experience in biomass conversion, hydroprocessing, and SAF pathways, having held senior technical and commercial roles at leading organisations in the bioenergy and cleantech sectors. His expertise spans the full technology development lifecycle from bench-scale process development and pilot-scale demonstration through to FEED studies, EPC execution, and commercial project delivery. He has a strong track record of securing competitive grant funding across the USA, the UK, the EU, and international programmes, and of translating early-stage innovations into investor-ready, commercially deployable platforms. He has approximately 40 patent filings from his career in the sector. Dr Gajjela holds a PhD from Mississippi State University and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (MIChemE), and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
