Cornelius Claeys is head of market intelligence within Neste's strategy function. In this role, he leads the analytical team responsible for providing internal stakeholders with strategic market updates and assessments. Before joining Neste, Cornelius was director of renewables at an energy consulting firm. Prior roles also include experience in the European Commission's DG Trade, Brussels-based think tanks and international business media. Other topics on which he presented at international conferences include aviation biofuel production costs, the impact of road electrification on biofuel demand and follow-up legislation to the European Green Deal.
Ina Chiriță is an expert in European biofuels markets at S&P Global. She specializes in EU biofuels regulatory frameworks and is responsible for the development of the long-term biofuels and feedstocks supply and demand forecasts for the region.
Ina has over 10 years of experience in energy research and analysis. Since she joined the company in 2014, she has worked in different roles in the Oil Markets, Midstream and Downstream group. She has focused on the long-term implications of the energy transition on the European downstream sector and has led the Europe Refining and Marketing research capability between 2018 and 2020.
Previously, Ina was an Adviser on Climate and Sustainability at the Romanian Presidential Administration.
Eddie started in the markets in 1980 and has worked on trading desks in Bullion, Energy, Agricultural, Softs, Metals Futures & Options. In the late 1980’s he added FX, Equities and Fixed Income to his abilities and by 1990 he’d managed desks in all of these. He joined Esprit Brokers (precursor to ADMISI) in 1991 to develop FX business & started the 24 Hour FX Desk. By 2018, after 27 successful years as Head of FX he moved over to a new role as Head of Technical Analysis and Senior Markets Analyst. Eddie is Chairman of The Society of Technical Analysts in the UK (the ‘STA’). He’s also a Member of ACI-UK (the FX dealers association) and most recently became a Director of the International Federation of Technical Analysts (‘IFTA’), the oversight body for all Technical Analysis Societies in the World. Eddie publishes ‘Eddie’s Crayons…’ Technical Analysis reviews on FX and commodity futures markets. He regularly speaks at conferences and on TV & radio. Olivier Bobin graduated with a MSc (1996) in Chemistry and a PhD (2001) in Physics from the University of Bordeaux, France. In 2005, he founded, with Richard Cheret, CIRAM laboratory. He is currently CEO and scientific director of CIRAM.
CIRAM is a French private laboratory focused on scientific analysis and dating of materials, and especially on radiocarbon dating. For many years, CIRAM distorted the Radiocarbon dating aim to the analysis, test and quantification of the biobased materials.
The radiocarbon technique is the only option to obtain an objective, reliable and suitable quantification of the percentage of biogenic carbon, the fossil carbon and the biomass content of every solid, liquid or gas fuels.
Graduated as a telecommunications engineer from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and formed in business management by EDEM and business development by ESIC, he began his professional career in the world of entrepreneurship by developing a telemedicine company in 2002. In 2005 he joined the energy sector with Unión Fenosa, where he worked for 14 years in commercial tasks managing the Levante delegation, and in business development of the alternative fuel bunkering business for Europe in what is now Naturgy. In 2019, he moved from the energy sector to the maritime sector, where he joined the shipping company Baleària, leading the company’s decarbonisation actions, both in the development of the company’s LNG strategy and in the introduction of new biofuels. Since 2014 he has been a member of the board of directors of the Association of Energy Engineers, and is currently the President of the Association in Spain.
Originally from Croatia and now based in Amsterdam, Valentina brings extensive expertise in sustainability and renewable energy markets. At AFS Energy as Senior Sustainability Advisor/Broker, she focuses on brokerage for EU Allowances (EUAs), providing clients with insights into fundamental and technical analysis and the latest legislative updates.

Akman Ozel is the lead analyst for biofuel and ticket markets within STX Research and Trade Analytics team. He is responsible for establishing an analytics-driven market view on tickets and biofuels based on regulatory developments, supply and demand dynamics and trade activity. As a cross-commodity analyst, Akman provides multiple internal stakeholders with market insights including biofuel, feedstock, ticket and renewable gas trading desks.
He has 7 years of experience in the energy industry. Before joining STX Commodities, he worked as Principal Biofuels Analyst at S&P Global Commodity Insights, covering European biofuel markets.
Akman holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Toronto, and a master's degree in International Energy from Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA).
Paola is the Head of Research and Trade Analytics for the STX Group, a leading global Environmental Commodity Trader. She is responsible for the company’s views on markets and macroeconomics, including the outlook for different low-carbon products, equity and credit markets, and political risk.
Before joining STX Group she was Head of Market Intelligence for CEPSA Trading, responsible for the floor’s market views, covering the range of oil sector activity from upstream, through refining, to demand forecasting. Prior to this she was Vice President of Downstream Services and Product Manager of Oil Market Analytics at Rystad Energy, an independent energy research and business intelligence company. Prior to joining Rystad Energy, Paola was a Geophysical Engineer at PGS in Oslo.
Paola has an engineering degree in geophysics from USB, a MSc from NTNU, and a MA in International Energy from the Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA). She works closely with different stakeholders in the industry and is frequently quoted and interviewed by several news outlets, specialized publications, and think tanks. Her research and analysis have been quoted +100 times in different media outlets. She has been a speaker at the CERA week, ARGUS conferences, PetroSpot, Rystad Energy Events and others.
Bjorn Breckx is an accomplished energy industry professional with over 25 years of experience driving growth and sustainability in the sector. As Business Development Director at CFP Energy, he focuses on advancing low-carbon solutions, including feedstocks, FAME, HVO, SAF (both physical and paper), voluntary SAF credits and environmental commodities.
Previously, Bjorn spent 20 years at BP, where he last served as Strategic Account Director, managing key relationships and driving revenue growth across Europe, Turkey, Russia, and Central Asia. He later became Head of Sales Europe at Neste, leading successful sales strategies for HVO across the marine, construction, freight, heavy machinery, and municipal sectors.
Bjorn is a recognized speaker and contributor to industry events, including the Argus Biofuels Europe Conference and the Eurofuel Policy Event, bringing deep expertise in sustainable energy strategies and biofuels market development.

André is Nuseed’s EU representative, based in Brussels. With more than 15 years of experience, he drives the company’s EU policy advocacy strategy, steering Nuseed Bioenergy Platform and Carinata Programme development in Europe. • Prior to joining Nuseed, André spent +7 years at the EBB-European Biodiesel Board, the association representing European biodiesel & HVO producers. As Head of EU Policy, André led the EBB’s advocacy work, developing common policy positions and working on joint positions with external stakeholders and coalitions. He also represented the industry in EU expert groups and conferences. He focused on the implementation of the post-2020 EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED II), the Fit-For-55 package (RED III, aviation, maritime, etc.), multiple European Green Deal proposals and trade matters. • Before the EBB, André spent +4 years as a consultant at a public affairs agency in Brussels, advising clients in the energy, environment, and transport sectors, with a strong focus on biofuels issues. Prior to moving to Brussels, André worked for various law firms in Portugal focused on public law and policy.

Leonidas Kanonis is the Director for Communications & Analysis at the European Waste-based & Advanced Biofuels Association (EWABA) since January 2021. Leonidas has acquired extensive experience on the biofuels industry following his 3,5 years stint at Argus Media, where he became the deputy editor for the biofuels desk after covering the market for crop and waste feedstocks as a senior market reporter. In previous roles, Leonidas worked as an energy analyst for a consultancy in London and the UK's Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (OFGEM). Leonidas studied Environmental Economics at the University of York and has been working in the renewable and bioenergy markets for his entire career.
