E15 to be offered at more than 120 Cumberland Farms stores

Growth Energy and Prime the Pump have announced that regional convenience store chain Cumberland Farms is to become the newest E15 retail partner to join the Prime the Pump program.

Located in Massachusetts, Cumberland Farms will start to offer E15 at just over 120 of its Northeast US stores. The 15% ethanol blended fuel will be available to buy all year-round.

A fuel made with 15% ethanol and approved for cars made in 2001 and newer, E15 is said to be very popular with American drivers. The response to the growing availability of E15 has been vast as more than 5 billion miles have already been logged on the fuel both in-store or at the pump.

Senior vice president Petroleum Supply and Operations of Cumberland Farms David Masuret states: “At Cumberland Farms we strive to be the clear choice for our customers’ everyday needs and that means being on the frontlines of innovation.”

He continued, “As E15’s growth continued to accelerate it became an obvious choice for us to make it available to our customers. We’re proud to partner with Prime the Pump to expand our fuel offering and give our customers more choice- whether in store or at the pump.”

Growth Energy’s CEO Emily Skor said on the deal: “Cumberland Farms will spread E15 access to new territory and will be giving more American drivers a cleaner-burning, engine-smart choice at the pump which will be available uninterrupted year-round.”
