Sophia Haywood is Director EU & UK Government Affairs, Policy & Sustainability at LanzaJet, where she is responsible for the strategy and delivery of advocacy initiatives to scale a sustainable domestic SAF industry and market across Europe, translating regulations for project development and contributing to business strategy.
Prior to joining LanzaJet, Sophia has held leadership positions across the renewable fuels & energy sector, including at renewable fuels producer Dimeta, covering the UK, Europe and United States, and at Liquid Gas UK, where she led the work on a pathway for the UK LPG industry to transition to renewable alternatives.
Sophia is a committed and active member of the European Advanced Biofuels Coalition, serving on their board and as Chair during 2023 and 2024, representing advanced biofuel producers and its value chain, across road, marine and aviation sectors, with EU policy makers.
She has represented companies and industries in a variety of European and Global Initiatives, such as COP28 in Dubai and at the G7 2024 in Turin, and regularly contributes thought leadership and opinion pieces to the media on energy and renewables topics.
