German bioethanol association appoints new MD

The German Bioethanol Industry Association (Bundesverband  der deutschen Bioethanolwirtschaft) has appointed a new managing director.

Stefan Walter, a lawyer with significant experience in real estate and tax policy, was appointed by the BDBe board. He succeeds Dietrich Klein.

“We are delighted to appoint Mr. Walter, who has extensive professional experience with trade associations, as managing director,” said Norbert Schindler, BDBe chairman and the president of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture, in a statement.

Walter’s previous position was senior policy advisor on tax issues and head of the legal department at the German Farmers Association (Deutscher Bauernverband).

Klein headed the Agricultural Working Group on Biofuels from 1991. The working group evolved into the German Bioethanol Industry Association in 2008.

The new appointment took effect from 13th April.
