E15 now available at 146 stations across Iowa

The US state of Iowa has 146 petrol stations that offer E15.

The US state of Iowa has expanded the number of petrol stations that offer drivers E15.

The news comes as petrol station Casey’s announced that it added two more petrol stations to its E15 portfolio in Iowa. A total of five Casey’s stations across Iowa now offer E15. Overall, the company has 17 stations across Iowa, Illinois and Kansas that pump out E15.

“It’s encouraging to see Casey’s expanding availability for this cleaner, higher-octane fuel that also gives back to the local economy,” said Iowa Renewable Fuels Association managing director Lucy Norton.

She added: “Blended with ethanol produced right here in Iowa, E15 reduces pollutants and cancer-causing chemicals in the air, has an 88-octane rating – which enhances vehicle performance – and is typically priced five to 10 cents less than 87-octane E10. With all these benefits, we fully expect demand for E15 to only increase among Casey’s customers.”

E15 is a fuel made of 15% ethanol and 85% petrol.
