Alliance BioEnergy makes progress on distillers grain process

Alliance BioEnergy Plus, a US cellulose technology provider, has said that it has  is very pleased to completed phase one of a three-phase qualification process with one of the largest ethanol producers in the country, for its bolt-on, two step distillers grain process.

The firm does not disclose the producer it is working with.

However, it said that as part of phase one, Alliance has already successfully demonstrated (to the senior management of the above mentioned ethanol producer) its two-step process which extracts the protein and oil from distillers grain and then extracts the sugar (from the remaining fibre) which will be converted into cellulosic ethanol.

Phases two and three will be completed in the coming months and include demonstrations on various types of distillers grain, continuous recycling and long uninterrupted processing.

When complete the company anticipates entering into a joint venture agreement with one of the large ethanol producers currently evaluating the process.

Alliance’s proprietary and patented processes continue to gain the attention of ethanol producers from around the world. The company is in advanced negotiations with other producers located in Columbia, Grenada, Canada and Honduras.
