For more than 20 years, Daniel Oh has led a diverse range of business and management organizations. Currently, Mr. Oh serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Renewable Energy Group®, Inc.

Prior to Renewable Energy Group (REG), Mr. Oh served as a vice president and as a member of senior management at ABG, Inc., an agribusiness consulting and services firm, responsible for the management consulting and market research practices. Prior to ABG, Mr. Oh was a leader in the Corporate Finance and Investment Banking area of Corporate Strategy and Business Development Group at Eli Lilly and Company, a global pharmaceutical company, where Mr. Oh focused on structured financing, all aspects of M&A including integration activities and corporate strategy. Mr. Oh has also served as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army for 11 years, including Operation Desert Storm, and held the rank of Major.

Mr. Oh is a graduate of the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science in economics and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago with concentrations in finance, accounting and strategic management.

Mr. Oh serves as a Director on the Ames Economic Development Commission, a Director on the Board for the Ames Minor Hockey Association, a Director for the West Point Society of Des Moines and previously served as a Chairman for the Iowa Biodiesel Board.

Christoph is a multi facetted renewable energy promoter and self-driven social entrepreneur with a thorough international profile and a healthy impatience. He is Founder and CEO of JATRO BioJet Fuel Group of companies focusing on the commercialization of sustainable biofuels and alternative jet fuel as well as the conversion of biomass into electricity, organic fertilizer and animal feed. With a strong foothold in technology and genetics JATRO is rolling out commercial size bio energy crop plantations across tropical South East Asia while integrating catalyst and enzyme assisted refining processes into the renewable jet fuel supply chain.

Being deeply rooted in Asia Pacific, Christoph combines tangible green energy and biodiversity goals with the empowerment of people with real needs. With creativity and perseverance he is pursuing poverty alleviation and sustainable social change with entrepreneurial zeal, business methods, technology and the courage to innovate and overcome traditional practices.

Before entering the alternative aviation fuel sector, Christoph held various senior management positions at investment banks in New York, London, Shanghai and Hong Kong. During his career with German Allianz Group, he was heading the Investment Banking & Capital Markets China division in Shanghai and Beijing.

He is a former vice chairman and founder of stock exchange Nasdaq Germany. During his tenure with the European Commission, Directorate General XV, Christoph played a crucial part in the concluding stages of the Uruguay Round negotiations on trade in financial services in Brussels and Geneva.

Christoph launched his professional career as a lawyer for international banking and business law, first for Stikeman Elliott, Toronto and then Clifford Chance, Frankfurt.

Christoph has a PhD Degree (Dr. jur.) from the University of Muenster and holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from McGill University, Montreal. He graduated in law from the University of Freiburg and London School of Economics.

Ortwin Costenoble graduated from Delft Technical University as a materials science engineer. He started at NEN, the Netherlands Standardization Institute, in 2000 in the chemistry field. After years of standardization consultancy in for instance rubber, LPG and natural gas, he specialised in international standardization work in the petroleum and biofuels field. He is now senior standardization consultant at NEN Energy Resources.

Mr. Costenoble is international secretary for committees and working groups in ISO and CEN, a.o. (bio)fuels quality, test methods, alternative energy, sustainability criteria for biomass, bio-solvents, and bio-based products. He is also member of related organizations such as ASTM. Besides this he acts as project manager for research, pre-standardization and certification work on biofuels and bio-based products.

Ortwin has organized international scientific congresses and training courses in for instance China and Eastern Europe with regards to standardization, trade, certification, measurement and metrology.

Dr. Caroline Midgley, PhD, is Director of Biofuels and Bio-based Chemicals Research at LMC International, a firm providing economic, marketing, and consulting services for a broad range of industries related to agricultural commodities and their downstream derivatives. Supported by LMC's grains, oilseeds, sugar and starch teams, Dr. Midgley is responsible for LMC's biofuels and bio-chemicals work. This work includes investment appraisal projects for new plants, assessing the impact of changes in domestic biofuel policies, analysis of agricultural raw material, biomass and by-product markets and an analysis of the impact of technological developments within the biofuels and bio-chemicals sector. Prior to working for LMC International she was a commodity analyst for ED & F Man Sugar Limited.

Dr. Ludo Diels, Dr. in chemistry - biotechnology, is research manager Sustainable Chemistry at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) in Mol, Belgium. During 15 year he managed the Environment and Process Technology Business Unit and is now responsible for the transition toward sustainable chemistry and clean technology. He is responsible for the organisation of collaboration with the academic and industrial World and for co-financing projects. He coordinated and is involved in many international research projects. He worked on the creation of the Flanders Initiative for Sustainable Chemistry(FISCH) and the Flemish Algae Platform (VAP). Dr. Ludo Diels is strongly involved in the set up of a biobased economy in Flanders. He is also responsible for the collaboration between VITO and India and he is managing the creation of a road map and Strategic Research Agenda for R&D on biomass and biowaste between India and Europe. He is working on the founding of a Shared Research Centre on Bioaromatics between the Netherlands, Flanders and Germany.

Process intensification and the partial replacement of fossil based resources by biomass-based and renewable resource form the basis for the Sustainable Chemistry Development. The integration of waste (including also waste gases as CO2 and H2) and wastewater management and technologies are key in the development of a sustainable World. In this way he also was on the basis of the Sewage Plus concept, a combined waste and wastewater treatment system leading to reduced energy consumption in water treatment and production.

Dr. Ludo Diels is also professor at the University of Antwerp at the department of bio-engineers. He teaches environmental stress, environmental technology and sustainable chemistry.

Arthur Reijnhart, a Dutch national, holds a Masters degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Utrecht, and joined Shell in 1997 as a Business Development manager in Retail. After a number of commercial roles in the areas of marketing, fuels pricing and sales in the Netherlands, Arthur moved to Paris in 2003 to lead Shell's Retail Network Planning activities in North West Europe, overseeing a $300 mln annual asset investment portfolio, as well as an intensive network restructuring programme across the region. In 2007 Arthur moved back to the Netherlands after his appointment as Retail Director for Netherlands, France, Belgium and Luxemburg. Realizing significant improvement in financial returns during the economic downturn, he led the organizational integration of the 4 markets, as well as a repositioning of the fuels portfolio.

In 2010 Arthur took on his current role as General Manager for Alternative Energy strategy. In this capacity he leads the strategy unit that develops Shell's strategic responses to changing future mobility, the future energy challenge and Alternative Energy, which includes Shell's long term biofuels strategy. Arthur is a member of the Shell Downstream Strategy Leadership, and is based in The Hague.

Daan Peters is senior consultant bioenergy at Ecofys in the Netherlands. He advises a wide range of governmental corporate and NGO clients on EU and national biofuel policy and sustainability including Indirect Land Use Change. Daan has worked in the field of biofuels for over six years. Prior to joining Ecofys two years ago he worked at the biofuels desk of the Dutch ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment where he focused on the implementation of the EU biofuels sustainability scheme and Indirect Land Use Change. From 2006 to 2009, Daan worked at the European Parliament in the office of the EP-rapporteur of the Fuel Quality Directive where he was closely involved in the process that led to the introduction of the EU biofuels sustainability criteria.

Being an agricultural economist by profession Bernd Kuepker started his career as agricultural researcher dealing mostly with quantitative analyses and economic forecasting. After a year in the German Ministry of Finance where he among other things represented Germany in the Committee on the Agricultural Funds he joined the Commission services in 2008. The first three year he worked for DG Agriculture before he moved to DG Energy where he is the desk officer in charge of questions related to the practical implementation of the EU sustainability scheme for biofuels, advanced biofuels, biogas and economic analysis.

Dr. Sari has over 15 years' experience in leading global sales & marketing, customer management, customer strategy & business relations as well as business development in different global businesses. Dr. Sari graduated from Helsinki University and holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry. Dr. Sari´s background also includes research and development in biotech field.

He has previously worked as an R&D engineer to expand his technical knowledge in chromatography. Before joining Agilent Technologies, Latif gained a great professional experience in the petrochemical and mineral oil industry. Situated in close proximity to the petroleum industry in the seaport city of Rotterdam, Latif is in a unique position to 'take the pulse' of the biofuels industry. Latif is graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry and holds a Master of Chemistry degree from Leiden University, The Netherlands.

Christian Koolloos (1977) acts as Business Manager Bio-ethanol with DSM's Bio-based Products & Services unit since 2013. Christian is responsible for developing and managing DSM's Enzymes & Yeast business in the emerging field of cellulosic biomass to bio-ethanol and other renewables – including supply to the POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels joint venture.

Christian Koolloos joined DSM as Commercial Manager Yeast in 2011 with the acquisition of C5 Yeast Company which was created as a spin-off from Royal Nedalco earlier that year. He has been involved in several new technology roll-out activities before joining Royal Nedalco as operational manager for its venture activity in C5 sugar fermenting yeast technology in 2007. He has widely rolled out the C5 yeast in the nascent cellulosic ethanol industry.

Koolloos, who is married with 2 daughters, has a background in microbiology and molecular cell biology. He holds a master's degree in biology from Utrecht University (The Netherlands).

Hendrik-Jan van Engelen graduated in 1995 as a civil engineer at the technical university of Delft. He started his career in IT consultancy with Cap Gemini (attached to NATO) and subsequently he set to work a few years later at P&O Nedlloyd. As terminal development manager among other functions he took care of the development of the Antwerp Gateway Terminal and Euromax in Rotterdam.

After the take-over of P&O Nedlloyd by A.P. Møller-Maersk he eventually became general manager at the head office of APM Terminals in The Hague. There, van Engelen was jointly responsible for the development and implementation of new container terminal projects.

In the two and a half years prior to joining the port of Ghent, he was again active in consultancy at Logica. There he was responsible for projects and services the sectors of energy, utilities and telecommunications and for internal change management projects.

At the Port of Ghent, he is head of the commercial department and responsible for the implementation of the commercial strategy and marketing & prospection.

Marie-Hélène Labrie joined Enerkem as Vice President, Government Affairs and Communications, in May 2008. Prior to that, she worked in communications, business strategy, and market analysis as Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning at CAE, and as a consultant for numerous organizations, such as Oliver Wyman Delta Organization & Leadership and Desjardins Financial Security. Ms. Labrie began her career at the Government of Canada, in the Department of National Defense, and pursued it at Industry Canada and the Privy Council Office.

Ms. Labrie is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association, the Canadian Bioenergy Association (CanBio) and the Mississippi Energy Institute. She is also Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Écotech Québec, a cleantech cluster, and represents the company at the Advanced Ethanol Council and the Canadian Cleantech Coalition.

Marie-Hélène Labrie holds a Masters in International Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Université Laval in Québec.

Lars Gaustad is Senior Vice President for Transport Fuel in Statoil Fuel & Retail since 2010, and is responsible for the groups' product portfolio, supply and logistics, including alternative fuels.

Lars has been with Statoil Fuel & Retail and Statoil's downstream cluster since 2003, and he has held key positions in the fuel business, including strategic project manager and fuel category manager.

Before joining Statoil Fuel & Retail, Lars was a senior consultant at Accenture from 1997 to 2003, focusing on the oil & gas and retail industries.

Gaustad holds an MSc from the Norwegian School of Economics and ESADE.

Giorgio Rosso Cicogna served as CEI Acting Secretary General in January 2013. Previously he served as CEI Alternate Secretary General since June 2010.He joined the Italian Foreign Ministry in 1971 for a diplomatic career of over twenty years. Among his assignments: Assistant to the Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister, Head of the Secretariat of the Foreign Minister, Advisor for International and European Affairs to the Ministers for Science/Technology and for Public Holdings. He also served as Consul in Vienna, Counsellor and Chargé d' Affairs in New Delhi and Alternate Head of the Italian Delegation to the CSCE again in Vienna, and held several positions at the Economic Department of the Italian Foreign Ministry.

In 1991 Mr. Rosso Cicogna retired from government service and started a new career in the private sector as Director General of the Italian Federation of Industries for the Trieste region. In 1998 he joined TELIT (the only producer of cellular and satellite phones in Italy) as Executive Vice-president for corporate planning and for international, institutional and public affairs; later he was a consultant to the top management of several companies. In 2008 he was appointed Managing Director of the International Centre for Science and High Technology (ICS) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Ludwig Goris obtained a Master in Chemistry from Ghent University in 2000 and completed his PhD in Physics at Hasselt University in 2006, focusing on organic solar cells research. After earning his doctorate he took on a position as a post-doctoral scholar at Stanford University. In 2009 he re-joined Hasselt University to develop new thin film diamond applications. In parallel he was actively involved in technology transfer from lab to start-up company and was an independent advisor for the Capricorn Cleantech Fund. Ludwig is pursuing his Executive Master in Corporate Finance at the Vlerick Business School.

Ludwig joined Capricorn full-time in 2011, where he puts his accumulated scientific knowledge and business development experience to work in Capricorn's cleantech investment strategy, due diligence and active portfolio follow-up. He has a particular interest in bio-based and green chemistry, industrial biotechnology, feedstock technologies and novel chemistry.

Being an agricultural engineer by profession Brigitte Bohlinger started her career as an agricultural researcher at the Universität Hohenheim doing scientific research on fallow and non-wood forest products.

She was 3 years in Diffa, Niger with the German Development Service as a consultant advising local farmers, NGOs and a mutual savings bank for farmers. Thereafter she assisted for 5 years the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (Universität Hohenheim) in public relations and later coordinated for 3 years a research project with focus on 'Jatropha planting in Madagascar'. Simultaneously she operated for a period of 5 years as a project consultant for DR Congo in one of the most known aid and development agencies of Germany.

Since 2012 the change to private sector started with the engagement at JatroSolutions, first in the breeding program and later as a project coordinator, responsible for international projects and research projects.

He focuses on helping clients deal with issues related to strategy, market analysis, investment support, organization design, supply chain and technology enablement. Ian has extensive energy industry experience, including strategic work for major energy companies in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. Prior to joining Accenture, Ian worked for 6 years with BP where he worked in roles with trading, refining, sustainability and international marketing. Ian is a member of the European Biofuels Technology Platform. He is often asked to speak and chair at industry fora, amongst others World Petroleum Council, World Future Energy Summit and World Biofuels Markets. He is often interviewed by the media and has been featured in the FT and on BBC Radio 4 and the World Service.

Mr. Martin Grass is holding a P.hD. in agricultural economics covering several research projects of biomass and biofuels in developing countries. Since three year he is responsible as project manager and auditor at Intertek for Intertek' s global certification services of sustainable biomass and biofuel verification covering the ISCC and REDcert standards. During this time he has gained strong expertise in the biofuel sector and the European and national regulations.

Pietro Caloprisco graduated at the University of Bologna in International political science, with a specialization in European Studies. He is a policy officer at "Transport & Environment", the leading NGO voice on smarter and greener transport policies at the EU level in Brussels.

He has previously worked for the European Photovoltaic Industry Association, as Business Development Manager and Policy Advisor, where he followed in particular the development of the Solar Europe Industry Initiative in the framework of the SET-Plan. He also worked with several corporate in Brussels and advised them on their PA & communication strategies.

Carmen Millan Chacartegui is Director of Project Promotion and Institutional Relations in Abengoa Bioenergía Nuevas Tecnologías, the R&D company of Abengoa Bioenergia. She is responsible for launching new projects in the field of production of advanced bioethanol and other bioproducts, using both biological and thermo-chemical processes; and to support the development of new technologies in Abengoa Bioenergia. She also represents the company in different European and Spanish organisations.

Carmen has a degree in Fundamental Physics and an advanced diploma in Environmental Engineering. She attended the University of Seville (Spain) and the Technical University of Munich (Germany). Carmen started her professional career in research centers in Germany. In 2002 she joined Abengoa, where she has been occupying different positions related to the promotion of research and development activities in the field of renewable energy technologies, fundamentally in the production of advanced bioethanol & biorefineries.

Dr. Uronen is a team member of EU Affairs in Neste Oil Corpo ration. She joined the team in spring 2012 with the responsibility to evaluate EU directive amendments and to discuss the impacts on the biofuel industry.

Dr. Uronen has a PhD in Hydrobiology and she is Algae Oil Project Manager in Neste Oil Corporation. That includes coordination of both scientific and commercial collaboration worldwide. Neste Oil aims in including several advanced options in the biofuel raw material variety in the future.

She joined Neste Oil in 2007 and works closely with the Business development and Sustainability teams together with the Raw material R&D.

Dr. Uronen is based in the Neste Oil Technology Centre, Finland.

James Challinor is a Senior Analyst with Wood Mackenzie working in the Downstream Oil Research Group focussing primarily on European Fuels Marketing. James has worked in the oil industry since 2001 when he joined Texaco (later Chevron) Europe Downstream during which he held various roles in the supply optimisation group, After Valero's purchase of Chevron's UK & Ireland refining and marketing assets James worked in the Business Development Team with primary responsibility for biofuel strategy and reporting along with other regulatory activities. Mr. van Stralen is responsible for further development of the oil product storage and alternative fuels production, the fastest growing markets in Amsterdam.

He has a masters degree (Drs.) in business economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. During the course of his career Mr. van Stralen was involved in working with major Oil Terminals in Europe.

After finishing his training at Cargill Amsterdam, he held a position at Paktank (now VOPAK) as a sales Manager crude oil and products. In 1988 he joined Comos Tank Amsterdam (now Eurotank Amsterdam), were he worked as a Commercial Director for 10 years.

Founder and CEO of Sustainability Consult, Kathryn began her career as an environmental journalist and built upon her media experience to become a sustainability communications professional.  In 2008, Kathryn saw a need for a new kind of communications consultancy and founded Sustainability Consult to support companies and other players in the shift to a more sustainable economy.  Kathryn leverages her experience to advise companies, trade associations and NGOs on how to communicate with stakeholders and media.

Kathryn writes blogs and guest columns on sustainability, renewable chemistry and cleantech in Europe and North America and is a Certified Sustainability Practitioner. Kathryn Sheridan is a 1% for the Planet Ambassador.
